FAQs: All You Need to Know

Find answers to the most common questions about our Struva aluminium windows and doors. Whether you’re curious about features, installation, or customization options, we’ve got you covered to help you make an informed decision.

    What is Vitalis by Weatherseal?
Vitalis is a new aluminium window and door system from Weatherseal by Asian Paints. It is available in two types, sliding doors/windows and casement windows, and is designed around ultra-slim profiles that let in more light and give wider views while keeping strong structural performance.
What is the difference between Vitalis sliding and Vitalis casement windows?
Vitalis sliding systems glide sideways and suit large openings like living rooms, patios and balconies, with sash sizes up to 2100 mm high and 1000 mm wide. Vitalis casement windows open on hinges, outward or inward, and suit bedrooms and living rooms, with sash sizes up to 1500 mm high and 750 mm wide for each shutter.
What does “20 mm interlock” mean on Vitalis sliding windows?
The interlock is the vertical frame section where two sliding panels meet. Vitalis uses a 20 mm sightline interlock, which is very slim. A thinner interlock means less visible frame in the middle of your view, so the window looks almost frameless and lets in more natural light.
Is Vitalis different from Weatherseal’s Struva range?
Both are aluminium systems from Weatherseal. Vitalis focuses on a minimalist look with ultra-slim profiles in sliding and casement formats. Struva is a separate aluminium series. A Weatherseal expert can help you choose between them based on your opening sizes, floor height and design preference.
How strong are Vitalis windows against wind?
Both Vitalis sliding and casement systems are tested for wind loads of up to 1.6 kPa (1600 Pa). This means the frames and glass are built to stay stable under strong wind pressure, making them suitable for balconies and larger openings. For high-rise floors, confirm suitability with a Weatherseal expert.
Do Vitalis windows stop rainwater from leaking in?
Yes. Vitalis sliding and casement windows are rated for water tightness of 300 Pa, which measures how well the window keeps out wind-driven rain. This makes them a reliable choice for Indian monsoon conditions when installed correctly by trained Weatherseal teams.
Do Vitalis windows keep out dust and draughts?
Vitalis windows are tested for air permeability, which shows how much air passes through a closed window. The sliding system is rated at 200 Pa and the casement at 300 Pa. Better air tightness helps reduce dust, draughts and outside noise entering the home.
Which window type is more airtight, sliding or casement?
Casement windows generally seal tighter because the sash presses against the frame when locked. Vitalis casement windows are rated at 300 Pa for air permeability versus 200 Pa for sliding. If dust or noise is your main concern, casement is usually the better pick; for wide openings, sliding works better.
What glass thickness can Vitalis windows hold?
Vitalis sliding and casement windows support glass from 5 mm to 8 mm thick. You can choose the glass type based on your needs, such as toughened glass for safety or tinted glass for heat and glare control. A Weatherseal expert can recommend the right option.
What is the maximum size of a Vitalis window or door?
A single Vitalis sliding sash can be up to 2100 mm high and 1000 mm wide for each shutter. A Vitalis casement sash can be up to 1500 mm high and 750 mm wide for each shutter. Larger openings are covered by combining multiple sashes in one frame.
What colours are available in Vitalis?

Vitalis comes in a wide range of finishes, including Majestic Black, Space Grey, Charcoal Grey, Silver Satin, Snow Flake, Oak Essence, Maple Ridge, Bruno Brown, Smooth Nut, Aurum, Dune, Emery and more. Wood-look and metallic options let you match modern, classic or earthy interiors.

Can I get a wood finish without the maintenance of wood?

Yes. Finishes like Oak Essence, Maple Ridge, Smooth Nut and Bruno Brown give a wooden look on an aluminium frame. You get the warm appearance of timber without problems like termites, warping or swelling during monsoons.

What warranty comes with Vitalis windows?
Vitalis is backed by Weatherseal’s warranty of 25+ years. Please check the exact coverage terms for frames, finish and hardware with the Weatherseal team at the time of purchase.
How do I get a price for Vitalis windows?
Vitalis pricing depends on window type, size, glass, colour and the number of openings. Book a free consultation on this page, call 7676 51 9999, or email sales@weatherseal.in. A Weatherseal expert will measure your space and share a detailed quote.
    Who installs Vitalis windows?
Vitalis windows are installed by Weatherseal’s trained installation teams. Professional installation ensures the window performs to its tested wind, water and air ratings. Weatherseal also offers after-sales service and a customer complaint form for support.
How do I clean and maintain Vitalis aluminium windows?
Wipe frames with a soft cloth and mild soap water, and avoid abrasive cleaners that can scratch the finish. Keep sliding tracks free of dust and debris so panels glide smoothly. Check drainage holes before monsoon so water drains out freely.
